| The celebration of San Pancrazio, Patron of Taormina occurs on the 29 June and 9 July. San Pancrazio is considered as the protector of tourists visiting Taormina. Every 4 years (but since 2009 every year) the statue is carried by the devotes around Taormina. Every 4 years anyhow the statue of Saint Peter is carried as well together with San Pancrazio. This is a very particular day for Taormina, the town becomes magic. San Pancrazio came to Taormina 2000 years ago to convert the paganians during the bizantine domination. |
